netted the narcotic in a West End raid on Aug. 8, 1992.

that the accused had possession of the drugs in the

He said he could not conclude Kokanovic had control
of the pure China white heroin which was found in 45
baggies under a dresser in the one-bedroom appartment,

Kokanovic’s co-accused, Ivan Pelegrin, 36, failed to

show for court proceedings.

Paradis said he concluded from the evidence presented
during the trial that Kokanovic was the person in the -
apartment before the police broke in.

But Paradis said no facts were presented showing
Kokanovic had touched the drugs.

He found that Kokanovic was not a party to the drug

possession,

Outside the court room, Kokanovie cried as she hugg-
ed relatives and her lawyer, Anthony Serka.

mischief and assault.

Barbara Jane Sibbald, 25,
pleaded guilty to charges laid in
connection with incidents that oc-
curred Sept. 30, 1992, in North
Vancouver City.

Sibbald was charged with
mischief for wilfully damaging. a
car window belonging to a
woman. She also was charged
with assaulting the same woman.

Sibbald is required. to pay $230
restitution to the woman.

In addition, Sibbald is required
to perform 50 hours of communi-
ty work service before Oct. 29.
