Environmental guide
released for offices

A NEW, comprehensive
environmental guidebook
for Canadian office workers
has. been published by
Pitney Bowes of Canada.

The practical guide covers
topics such as maintaining
employee motivation for practis-
ing the 3Rs, energy conservation
and environmentally responsible
purchasing policies.

The Green Office Guide is
published with the support of the
Harmony Foundation and is
available free of charge.

Zhe Harmony Foundation, a
registered charity, is a leading na-
tional environmental group
dedicated to providing education
on how and why to take practical
action for the environment.

**Our annual national survey in
April showed that 60% of Cana-
dian offices are now practising the
3Rs — reuse, reduce, and recycle’
said Elaine Lurie, director, cor-
porate communications for Pitney
Bowes.

The survey also found that 82%
of office workers are more inter-
ested than a year ago in learning
of other activities to be en-
vironmentally responsible and this
book will teach them how, she
said.

charge by calling 1-800-461-3777.

Also <vailable is The Office
Guide to Waste Reduction and
Recycling, a how-to guide for
conducting a waste audit and set-
ting upa 3Rs program, as well as
an educational poster and video.

fices across Canada. Since 1990,
our green office education efforts
have reached thousands of Cana-
dian businesses and helped to save
countless thousands of tonnes of
waste from landfill sites,” said
Lurie. ‘‘This new guidebook res-
ponds ito Canadian office workers
and their commitment to a clean
environment,”’ she said.
