The first annual diabetes day care centre young adult conference and workshop will be held on Satur- day, Oct. 14 at Lions Gate Hospital medical day cen- tre. Speakers on the agenda include Dr. Lynn Day, a psychiatrist who is familiar with problems of diabetes, Dr. A. Farquhar, family practictioner and marathon runner, Dr. Mark Maloche, a UBC researcher on pancreatic transplants, and Dr. J. Higgins who will speak on funding of test strips. Dr. Day will be joined by local actress Nicola Cavendish for a session entitled Expressing Feeling. Those interested are asked to register in advance by Oct. 10. There will also be limited registration at the door at 8:45 a.m. The event runs until 3 p.m. The fee is $10 with financial assistance available if necessary. Lunch will be provided.
