tion in the 14-year-old Trees For
Canada program. Since 1974, ap-

proximately 30 million seedlings
have been planted across the coun-

try.

participating scouts raised close to
$10,000 in pledges from over 4,060
individuals and families.

“The response was excellent —
just super,” said Mann. ‘‘We’re
going to try to expand the program
to other scouting groups in the
region. It's much more construc-
tive than going for a hike and it
ties in with badge work as well.’’

The funds collected will help
support local scouting groups and
will help send 10 boys and leaders
to represent North Vancouver at
the World Scout Jamboree this
year in Australia.
