Husband may sue wife's mixed-up surgeons PHILADELPHIA (UPI) - The husband of a woman who underwent surgery in- tended for another woman -—— and vice versa — in a mix- up at Graduate Hospital said he plans to sue over the mistake. “T'm going to have to do something,” Affred Edmond- son said recently. “Pm definitely going to sue. I’m not sure when. | have to get myself together first.” Edmondson said _ the hospital has offered him no compensation. He said he told his wife about the error and “she didn’t say nothing.” His wife, Virginia, 54, was recuperating, he said. Mrs. Edmondson entered the hospital for a back operation, but instead underwent surgery to remove her parathyroid glands. The same day, Annie Robinson, 58, who was to have the parathyroid opera- tion, underwent surgery on her back. In each case, surgeons stopped when they reahzed the error. Mrs. Robinson's husband, Wesley, said he would wait until his wife’s health im- proves before deciding whether to take legal action.
