Two years ago they successfully petitioned against the street work - which includes widening the road to four lanes and in- stalling sidewalk. they’ve once again received a demand to pay for a share of the work. And once again there’s a petition started up: opposing the. plan. The District improvements are badly needed - that the road is inadequate for the volume of traffic, that the cracked insists the Now - ‘paving. needs replacing and that a sidewalk is needed for pedestrian safety. ~ And the residents agree. He was alerted that District were going to have a second try at making the residents pay for part of the cost when his neighbor Mrs. Carol Beaver received notification. “We will pay our fair share,” says Mrs. Beaver. “But I think it ought to be Jenny + . “PERCHED ON: 5 CHANNEL MARKER in North Vancouver, a family of Cormorants get a bird’s eye view of Stanley P: Park and the city.” (Peter Waugh photo) ap Rd . residents battle council spread around over whole of the District.” the She maintains that the Cap Road residents’ “fair share” is exactly the same as that of all the other District residents, since it is a major arterial route integrad to the District.
