GROUND SCHOOL instruction, followed by a
hands-on workshop on how to build your own ultra-
light airplane, is one of the new courses offered this
spring by Capilano College's Extension Programs and
Services.

Open to anyone with a flair for the innovative and
experimental, this course presents an opportunity for
people of any age, and no technical background, to
learn the ground school rudiments in a course ap-
proved by the Department of Transport.

The program begins Tuesday, Jan. 20 at 7 p.m.

Each evening the students will also work on
building an ultra-light airplane under the demonstra-
tion and direction of the instructor. Participants will

Course instructor, Char Bowman, has industrial
design experience that includes working with unusual
light person airplanes. Bowman exhibited his Fly-Tub,
prepared for the Nanaimo Bath Tub Race, for a
week at Expo 86.
