A NUMBER of citizens in
British Columbia are so out-
raged at the provincial budget
handed down by Mike
Harcourt’s '4RP government
that tax revolt fever is sweep-
ing across the grovince.
Ralties are being called, peti-
tions are being circulated,
and rumblings of recall pro-
ceedings can be heard in all
quarters.

In a weekly randorn survey of more
than 500 North Shore residents, the
North Shore News survey team
asked the people: Would you partici-
pate in a tax revolt in protest of the
new provincial budget?

Of those who resconded, 55.3%
said thay would {or hava) actively
work for a tax revolt; 28.6% said they
would nat join such a movement;
13.8% were not decided; and 2.3%
had no opinion on the matter.
