Pruning of Broad-Leaved Evergreens

Right now we are enjoying the spring beauty of Azaleas, Camellias, Rnodo-
dendrons and many other similar shrubs. Immediately after they finish bloom-
ing itis the optimum time for pruning. Leaving this till later can result in little or
no flowers next year, as bloom buds are set during the summer growing
season. If a shrub is substantially overgrown, do not hesitate to prune severly
at this time, as new growth will soon cover the pruning scars
