The 1989 Dodge Caravan and
extended-wheelbase Grand Cara-
van and companion Plymouth *
Voyager and Grand Voyager
MagicWagons continue their lead-
ership of the minivan market they
created when they were introduced
five yeass ago. They are still the
only front-wheel-drive family and
cargo-movers built in North
America.

Caravan and Voyager are
designed for the efficient transpor-
tation of people and their luggage
with passenger car comfort and
driving ease.

The standard-wheelbase Dodge
Caravan for 1989 is again available
in three price classes — Caravan,
highline Caravan Special Edition
(SE) and the premium Caravan
Limited Edition (LE). The ex-
tended-wheelbase Grand Caravan
is available in Grand Caravan SE

and Grand Caravan LE price
classes.

The standard Dodge Caravan is
built on 2 2,845 mm (112.0 inch)
wheelbase and has an overall
length of 4,468 mm (175.9 inches).
Although designed to carry from
five to eight passengers, the stand-
ard-wheelbase Caravan’s trim ex-
terior dimensions permit it to fit
into a K-car-sized parking space or
a conventional residential garage.

The extended-wheelbase Dodge
Grand Caravan is 371 mm, or 14.6
inches longer than the standard
wheelbase model. Grand Cara-
van’s wheelbase is 3,023 mm (119
inches) — seven inches longer than
the standard wheelbase version.
Overall length is 4,839 mm (190.5
inches).

For the first time, a powerful
2.5-litre, turbocharged engine is
available on standard-wheelbase
Caravan SE and LE models. This
