James, who this year will
also be teaching the fire and
safety portion of West Van
Community Centre’s babysit-
ting program, says she thinks
ir’s “really important to pro-
mote fire safety, especially for
children — they're so vulaer-
abic. Bur. kids. are . like
sponges; they absorb every-
thing.”

The West Vancouver Fire
Department is tividing an
open house taday from 1-4
p-m. at all of its fire halls.
