Adriano Rodyiguez is an accomplished bari-
tone singer. Over the course of his carcer he’s
worked with Celia Cruz and Merceditas
Valdes.

Edesio Alejandro brings a youthful fair for
non-traditional arrangements to Cuban music
from the 1950s and earlier.

The set was recorded in Havana, Cuba in

1997. Alejandro dubs his approach “acid son.”

It’s Cuban traditional with a jazzy owist.
A marvellous fluidity is achieved with

Rodriguez’ seasoned voice,

crisp trumpet lines and lan-

guorous synthesizer fill.
