Counterattack Program to start
on May 29 wili be getting an
extra crime-fighting boost in

North Vancouver thanks to
some help from the community.

In addition to six North Vancouver
Mounties checking for impaired drivers
three days a week, a team of volunteers
will be using ICBC computers to check if
the vehicles are stolen. The computers
will be luaded with the Jatest lists of

stolen cars.

“We'll be catching nwo birds with one
stone, so to speak,” said Sgt. Bob
Beaudoin, who heads the traffic section.

The ICBC-funded “enhanced”
Counterattack Program runs until Nov.
1. The annual Christmas season
Counteratrack = pregram begins in
November.
