The G.V.R.H.D. has made application to Council to rezone § the property (4.75 acre) at 419 Keith Road for a multi-level facility. There are about 2,800 people receiving community support services through the long term care programme on the North Shore. 945 of those 2,800 live in West Vancouver; 686 of those reside... ‘ between 22nd Street and the eastern boundary of the District of West " Vancouver. There are 332 people waiting for admission to North Shore residential care homes - 136 of those are waiting for admission to West Vancouver care homes. The waiting times for admission to North Shore residential care homes range from 6-18 months. Residential care homes in West Vancouver provide for the needs of 595 people. Of North Shore seniors aged 75 and over, approximately 10% live in ‘care homes. By 1996 West Vancouver is projected to have 4,534 residents aged 75. years and older.
