New Voikswagen
association formed

“FOR TOO long Volkswagen
owners/enthusiasts in Canada
have had to iook to the U.S. for
information and the latest trends
on the Volkswagen scene. Well,
no more,’’ says Chuck Stoffle,
president and co-founder of the
newly formed Canadian
Volkswagen Enthusiasts Associa-
tion (CVEA).

CVEA is a non-profit associa-
tion that is devoted to giving
Volkswagen owners/enthusiasts
across Canada an independent
voice. ‘This is our opportunity to
not have to continually rely on the
U.S. for information,”” says Stof-
fle.

“There is a strong need for an
association that gives Canadian
Volkswagen owners/enthusiasis a
chance to be heard and keep in
contact with others that share a
similar interest,’’ says Joe Town-
send, vice-president and co-
Younder of CVEA. “We will be
working closely with existing Ca-
nadian clubs to provide a better

network of news and information

for Volkswagen owners/
enthusiasts across Canada.**

“We will be preducing a
newsletter six times a year that
will be distributed ccross
Canada,”’ savs Stoffle. The first
issue was distributed in June
of this year. The newslet-
ter will contain information and
articles from across Canada on
events, people, cars, tech tips,
local clubs and much more.

**CVEA is the only Volkswagen
association in Canada to be of-
ficially recognized by Volkswagen
Canada,”’ says Townsend. ‘‘We
have worked hard to get this rec-
ognition and are very proud of
it.””

The cost to join CVEA is $24
per year, which includes the
newsletters, t-shirt, dash piaque,
membership card, discounts at
participating events and mer-
chants, and year-end banquets.
