fitness instructors

ASPIRING FITNESS instructors

can acquire first-level fitness in-

structor training at a course being

offered by the North Shore Family
MCA.

The Y-Fit course is a complete
program, including theory and lots
of practical experience. Partici-
pants: will develop the necessary
confidence and knowledge to lead
others through exercise classes.

The next Y-Fit course begins
Wednesday, May 4 and concludes

‘on June 29. Y-Fit is a recognized

BCRPA Fitness Leadership train-
ing course. The program will be

held at the North Vancouver Fami-

ly YMCA, 440 Hendry Ave.

Also included, as part. of the
45-hour program, is a computeriz-
ed nutrition analysis and certifica-
tion in CPR. For more informa-

Course (Level 2). will. focus on
refining technique, inventing
dynamic aerobic patterns, using
music | effectively,

communicate and motivate © par-
ticipants. A primary method of
learning in the program will be
video analysis of the participants’

' teaching.

This course is designed for -in-
structors who are interested in
growing within the fitness profes-
sion and is open to any instructor
who has a fitness instructor certifi-
cate.’ ~ ;

Monday, May 2 at'7 p.m. at the
North Vancouver Family YMCA,
