A PACKAGE of wage in-
creases ‘for non-contract
management staff at Lions
Gate Hospital has been ap-
proved by Compensation
Stabilization Program com-
missioner Ed Peck.

While some staff members
will remain at their current
level of pay because of pro-
vincial government-ordered
freezes, others will receive
raises of as much as five per
cent, |

The agreement for the in-
creases was made in June
and submitted to Peck for
his approval. That was given
last weck,after the release of
the provincial government's
latest hospital budgets.

Peck found the increases
“well within” the Compensa-
tion Stabilization program
guidelines, according to
LGH . Assistant Ad-
ministrator Eric O'Dell.

The increase comes as the
hospital and the Hospital
Employees Union continue
their attempts to reach a
contract for 1982. Earlier
agreement on an tight per
cent increase for the
unionized employees was re-
jected by Peck who ordered
both sides to work out an

agreement with a lesser in-

crease,
