football tournament, a
group of young North
Shore players is prepar-
ing to depart for
Europe in search of
their own spot in the
international spotlight.

And while the seven local
lads, and one coach, aren’t
likely co attract as much atten-
tion as World Cup players did,
the Welsh tournament they
will take part in is as big a deal
to the young ones as the
World Cup is to adults. The
Welsh Gold Cup — also called
the Tan Rush International
Soccer Tournament in honor

of Wales’ best-ever footballer
— features 112 teams trom 10
countries.
