ALATEST Ml TEPID EN AOL STDIN UT Happy with crash help Dear Editor: On Oct. 9 at about 6 p.m, my girlfriend and I were involved in a serious motor vehicle accident on the Upper Levels Highway. We had just entered the highway from the [Sth Street on-ramp when we were hit from behind by a vehicle that lost control due to its excessive speed. My girlfriend was injured as a result of the collision. This is to publicly thank all those who came to our aid that evening. Passers-by stopped to render assistance, phone for help and comfort my girlfriend, who was badly shaken and in pain. They also remained to assist the police in their investigation. We wish also to thank the West Vancouver Fire Department and the B.C. Ambulance Service, whose compassion and rapid response were much appreci- ated. We were taken to Lions Gate Hospital, and I have high praise indeed for the two nurses who treated us with such warmth and kind- ness. I do not have any names, but I hope all involved see themselves in this letter and accept our gratitude. Jeremy C. I have heard people complain about the quality of care they received in Hospital, and I wondered how I was geing to survive, I found the quality of care first class. All the warm, fuzzy feel- ings the word “nurse” con- jures in your mind were true of the nurses in the Intensive and the Cardiac Care Units. They were competent, caring and professional in the way they carried out their duties. They appeared to enjoy their work and seemed to treat it like a calling. I found the same to be true with the people who car- ried out the many diagnostic tests. Thank God for such a user-friendly institution as Lions Gate Hospital.
