Aver assists in funding
breast cancer research

This month through Christmas,
Jocal Avon Sales Dealers will sell
a gold-plated key ring to raise
money for breast cancer research.

The Avon Flame Key Ring will
sell for $3.50 net, with profits
going to Breast Cancer
Internetional Centre (BCIC), a
non-prvfit organization funding
breast cancer research, treatment,
prevension and education. The goal
for the campaign, led by Avon's

Ainsworth elected
president of CCEC

Judi Ainsworth, manager of
the North Vancouver Chamber
of Commerce, has been elected
president of the Chamber of
Commerce Executives of Canada
(CCEC) at the annual general
meeting in Quebec City.

In 1993, Ainsworth was named
“Executive of the Year” for a
Chamber of Commerce serving a
population of up to 150,000. CCEC
is the association of Chamber of
Commerce/Board of Trade profes-
sionals in Canada and is dedicated
to professional development.

Credit Union ceiebrates
a decade in Whistler

The Whistler location of the
North Shore Credit Union recent-
ly celebrated its 10th anniversary.

When the company first opened
in 1984, it was the only financial
institution in the Whistler area.
Despite the competition, the Credit
Union is still going strong.

CEA appoints
new prez

A one-time superintendent of
schools and chief executive officer
for the North Vancouver School
District has been elected president
of the Canadian Education
Association.

Rod Wickstrom, who currently
holds the same positions with Delta
Schoo! District No. 37, has also
been Deputy Minister of the
Saskatchewan Department of
Education and first vice-president
on the CEA board of directors.
