GER@RAADT - Captain George, passed
away May 17, 1992 at age 75, after a
Courageous battle. Survived by his three
sons Michael, Glenn and Rick, and his
grandchildren Lynn and David. Born in
Herbert, Saskatchewan July 22, 1916.
Captain George Gerbrandt served in the
Merchant Marines and after the War
worked at logging, fishing and oit ex-
ploration. More recently, George worked
for Tymac Launch Services and
Kingcome Navigation. By request there
will be cremation with no service. Ashes
to be spread at Knight Inlet. In tiew of
flowers, donations may be made to the
6.C. Cancer Society. A special thank you
to the nurses at St. Vincent's Hospital.

McGECHAEN - Jolin, Professor Emeritus,
UBL, passed away on May 16, 1992
after a leagthy illness. John had a long
teaching career, starting in elementary
and secondary schecls in the Vancouver
asea, before joining the former Normal
Schoof in 1950. He joined the UBC
Faculty of Education in 1956 where he
taught as a professor and chaired the
English Education department until
fetiring in 1976. John wrote many arti-
cles and co-authored books used in Ca-
nadian Schools.

Predeceased by his wile Rose in 1990.
John is survived by his loving family,
brother Jim; son Sandy McGechaen and
wife Patricia; daughter Ann Rittinger
and husband Gordon; grandchildren
Erin, Ryan and Heather. He will be
freatly Missed by his family, his many
Friends and former students,

Private arrangements, tn lieu of flowers,
donations to the Salvation Army would

FRIESON - John (Jake) passed away May
16, 1992 in Lions Gate Hospital after 3
courageous battle with cancer at the age
of 73 years. A longtime resident of
North Vancouver where he worked c+
25 years on the Parks Board. He leaves
his toving wife Violet; 3 sons, Roberi.
Larry and Jim, 6 grandchildren. No ser-
vice by request. Cremation.

SIMPSON - Ron, died suddenly on May
18. 1992, age 63 years. Survived by his
wife Edna; 3 sons, Mark and wife
Shannon and their son Brockton, Dean
and Keith; daughter Lynn; his mother
Edna; sister Bette and fusband Blink
White and their son Steve: brother Jack
and wife Gerry; and many friends. Me-
morial service was held Thursday, May
21 at 2pm in the Boal Chapel of FIRST
MAEMORIAL FUNERAL SERVICES, 1505
Lillooet Road, North Vancouver. Crema-
tion. In fieu of flowers, donations may
