“We received a lot of requests
(for program cepeats during the
day) from people who like certain
shows but don’t stay up late
enough to watch them, or from
viewers whose children dominate
the TV in the evening," said Shaw
Program manager Martin Stubbs.

Before installation of the
playback equipment, the station
offered virtually all of its pro-
gramming in the evening, broad-
casting only one or two programs
sporadically during the day. Now
it begins regular broadcasting at 9
a.m, every day except Sunday.

Until early January, Shaw staff
had to change tapes manually at
the end of each program. The new
