NV man jailed for 30 days A 25-YEAR-OLD North Vancouver man was sentenced March 22 to 30 days in fail after he pleaded guilty to six criminal charges ranging from break and enter to possession of instruments suitable for burglariziag vehictes. Eric Douglas Tuomas was originally charged with bresk and enter aad possession of instruments suitable for breaking into vehicles in connecticn with Sept. 24, 1987 and Oct. 17, 1987 inci- dents in which 2 residence on West 12th Street in North Vancouver was burgicriced aad a cost hanger seized. Thomas wat furiker charged with possession of a prohibited weapon following 2 seizure of a switchblade knife. He was also charged with possession of a coiz box key suitable for breaking inte colu-cperated machines, theft under $1,000 and possession of 2 stolen coin box key in connection with incidents that occurred between Oct. 14, 1987 2nd Nov. 16, 1987 in which money was stolen: from coim-opesated laundry machines. Appearing before Judge J.B. Pavadis, Thomas pleaded guilty to all six charges ned wes sentenced to 30 days in jail on each count. The jail terms wil be served concurrently. Man fined for traffic violations AN 18-YEAR-OLD Vancouver man was fined $225 March 13 in -West Vancouver provincial court after he pleaded guilty to three Motor Vehicle Act violations. Nicholas Tolos was originally charged with driving without a Griver’s ficence, speeding in a school rone and failing to give kis correct name to a police officer in connection with Sept. 22, 1988 inckdents in West Vancouver. Appearing before Jadge R.D. Grandison, Tolos pleaded gulity to | all three and was fined $50 on the first, $75 on the second and $100 on the third. Seymour designation changed From page 4 from any commercial development not included in a parks-use permit, logging, mining and mineral ex- ploration. Any changes to the operation of the commercial ski area within Mount Seymour must now be ap- proved under a new parks-use permit and must be consistent with the master plan for the park. Mount Seymour was designated a Class A park Jan. 31, 1936. In all, 207,122 hectares have been upgraded to Class A status, according to the government press release. Detailed regulations have also been issued by the province setting out where and how mineral ex- ploration and claim-staking may take place in some designated rec- reation areas.
