The Surrey artist and interior designer offers two workshops at UBC in June. A five-day intensive workshop - on interior design and planning begins June 22. Sessions will be van line can provide you with the professional assistance you are looking for and accommodate any special requests you may have. The wide range of services it of- fers allows selection to be based on your needs and your budget. This step also includes arranging other services in connection with your move. Appliances such as washing machines, dryers, refrigerators, freezers, stereos, grandfather clocks, etc., all have components which must be secure- ly fastened — preferably by a licensed service person ~- prior to the summer held in the centre’s conference room from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cost is $115, with enrolment limited to 15 students. A weekend workshop on kitchen planning will be held at the Home Economics Building June 27 and 28, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cost is $84. To enrol for either course, fill in the registration form on the back cover of the recently-distributed calendar of summer offerings from the Centre for Continuing Educa- tion, or call 222-5223 for details. This may be made easier by discussing the planning details with your family and appointing certain respon- ie sibilities to each member. Changeover of records Personal matters which should be taken care of during this time include notifying your post office, banks and telephone company, transferring fire, theft and other Personal insurance, cancelling utilities at your original residence and subsequent, obtaining service at your destination, transferring school and medical records to the appropriate authorities, etc. If you are doing your own pack- ing, begin as ‘soon as possible, and incorporate this and all other tasks as much as possible into your daily routine, This should ensure that the final days of your move pass very smoothly. The third and final step deals with the inevitable changes and ad- justments in family life that will take place when you move to a new community. It will be to your benefit to adopt a positive attitude while making the first move.
