Interestingly, as she was
tracing ancestor Antoine’s
past, Leduc imagined him as
an increasingly younger
person.

**At first, | was looking for
a father figure. Then, a hus-
band, and then a child (when

he lived) in France,’’ she
explained.
Antoine Leduc may _ be

long dead, but his memory
lives on. And so does his
name. Last year, the Leducs
had a new grandson. He was
