Randy Alan Wanck was arrested on March 2 after he pulled up to a Lower Lonsdale secondhand store in a stolen car. North Vancouver RCMP burglary section officers were in the store looking for stolen property. The store, Cash Converters, is located at 149 Lonsdale Ave. Police say Wanek bad come to the store to. sell stolen property he had just obtained in a burglary. Wanek was charged with break, enter and theft of a house that same day in the 500 - block of Verona Place in the Delbrook area. Two years ago another North Vancouver provincial court judge, Doug Moss, jailed Wanck 18 months for a burglary of a house ins the 7O00-block of East) Keith Road. Wancek was caught by the burglary victim, Charlie Cowie. Cowie ran into Wanek and another burglar as they came out of Cowie’s garage on March 18, 1997, The burglars decided to run. One of the burglars dropped Cowie’s stereo and VCR in a water-filled ditch before taking off. Wancek had been out of jail for one week before he was caught stealing Cowie’s prop- erty. Vanek pleaded guilty to the Cowie burglary the next dav. Besides 1S) months’ in jail, Judge Moss placed Wanek on 24 months’ probation.
