8 ~ North Shore News — Sunday. March 26, 2000 Vandals hit WV 7-Eleven [ WEST Vancouver Police are looking for any wit- nesses to an incident of vandalism at the Ambleside 7-Eleven. Surveillance cameras inside the store show two Caucasian teenagers approaching the front door at around 2:50 a.m. on Saturday, March 11. One boy was wearing blue jeans and a white sweater with one line of writing on it. The other sported blue jeans, a dark sweater and white trainers. Both had short hair. The video footage shows them looking inside the store and knocking on the window. WVPD Sgt. Jim Almas said that one of the boys “appears to urinate.” Then one of them kicked the storefront window in. The alarm was not triggered because the boys did not enter the store. Nothing was taken. Police estimate the damage to be around $500. The boys were seen on the video running westbound down Marine Drive. Almas said several cars were seen driving by on the video, but none stopped. Police responded to a call from a member of the public, but no one was at the scene when they arrived. Any witnesses to the incident are asked to contact Cpl. Catlin at the West Vancouver Police Department, 985-1311. — Katharine Hamer ...wouldn't you take Advantage? introducing BCAA Advantage Auto Insurance It's BCAA’s new line of auto insurance.
