Dear Editor:

Referring to Doug Collins’ re-
cent comments on the Holocaust
and his various attempts to turn
historical facts with a bibliography
of thousands of books into fiction,
I suggest he moves out of his arm-
chair and into the reat world of
pre-war and war-time Europe, of
which period he obviously has no
knowledge whatsoever, either by
reading, research or experience.

In 1955, during a nearly year-
long visit to Europe, I was privi-
Jeged to attend and research for
four months at the University of
Leiden in Holland. As a bilingual
South African, I studied the Dutch
text of the Nazi occupation of
Holland. Fully and = carefully
documented at this great centre of
learning, it is shown that hundreds
of thousands of Hollanders, being
Jews, liberals, patriots and undes-
ground fighters, academicians,
ctc., were seized by the Nazis and
shipped to the extermination
camps in Eastern Europe, never to
return to Holland.

This number was from a small
population of a small country.
Therefore this number is
multiplied many times from the
other European countries, from
France to Greece, with larger pop-
ulations where the same process of
deliberate extermination was car-
ried out.

By always quoting from obscure
writings and showing an obvious
Jack of personal knowledge in his
various writings, it is seen that
Collins has never visited Dachau
concentration camp, established in
1933 for the murder of Germans,
who were anti-Nazis, labor leaders,

Ban the dog,
ban the master

Dear Editor:

Now that the city and district of
North Vancouver have posted ‘‘no
dog”’ signs in most of the parks in
North Vancouver they have disen-
franchised about oue half of the
taxpayers, since by banning the
family pooch they have effectively
banned his master.

I used to walk my dog on a leash
in Lynn Creek Park just below
North Shore Winter Club. There
was a steady stream of dog lovers
walking their pets. Now the park is
practically deserted.

Please change the signs showing
the dog ban to include his master.
