It is strange, nonetheless, how fleeting fame can be and we thought the reader might like to be introduced to . . or learn more about . the man after whom Carson Graham Secondary School 1s named. Dr. Carson Graham was born near Kemptville, On- tario on August 2, 1899. After graduation from Kemptville High School, Carson joined the Canadian Air Force and, when the First World War ended, entered the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. Graduating in 1924 with the degree M.D.C.M., he intern- ed briefly in Quebec City before coming to North Vancouver. ; His medical work soon led ERY ARENA to his election as chairman ot the Credentials Committee and, later to his serving as chief of the medical staff of North Vancouver General Hospital. During this period of time he acted as port physician and, as well, was an executive member of the North Vancouver Board of Trade. But Dr. Graham was more than a successful and skillful doctor. He was a very public spirited citizen and served as trustee on the North Van- couver School Board for 14 years, until his death July 14, 1959. Carson Graham left behind him a legacy of unselfish service to education and, in appreciation, the Board of School Trustees named our school in his honor. ; His capacity for hard and sustained work, a combative spirn which refused to admit defeat, and a steadfastness and foyalty toward duty are characterisuc of the = tradi- tons which this school has attempted to build. the source of ON a tous through our kitchen) Kids love it!
