The idea of ruining the water- front area around [4th Strect with parking lots, stores, restaurants and a huge concrete pier complex is sickening. This issue offered well over 150 free kittens I wondered if - (like prize balloons in a. package of corn flakes) to “good homes.” ‘And I wondered how many of these little ones would end up dead on another boulevard. Some, no doubt, will join the ranks of the hundreds of cats who scavenge in laneways, hiding under parked cars. These too were once given away as kittens to a “good home.” And,. of course, the least lucky will . end up in one of the many local labs being used to test poison on, electric shock therapy and all the other nicities our educated scientists use cats and kittens for. .
