A West Vancouver man has an airport in his
garage.

He has another (of a different design) in his ree room and
is considering building a loft on to his house to accommodate
a third.

Brian Anderson dreams up the designs for his models that
he describes as airports of the future.

“I also pick up some ideas when I travel” he said in his
slow, methodical voice.

His airport models are built to a 1696 scale and one is

“now so large that it takes up an entire two-car garage at his
West Vancouver home. ..

Anderson is very proud of the innovative designs of his
models and boasts that his garage airport incorporates a
cruise ship facility.

“Even the runways have electric lights,” he said.

‘< He pays a model-maker to build his designs in plexiglass
and says that the structure, which he began in 1994, “isa lor
bigger than it was five years ago. It’s now doubled in size.”

However, Anderson has no idea how much he’s spent on
‘is passion since he began designing the models. .

.. Eventually, he hopes to submit his ideas to airport plan-
ners. “I’ve thought about doing that but not yet.” .

Would his ideas still be relevant by then? -
