schools sought for
environmental project

THE Evergreen
Foundation’s BC
Model Schools project
is seeking 20 schools to
model environmental
stewardship through
habitat creation.

The project’ prowides
schools with two years of
hands on help to transform
10% of their sterile, barren
school grounds into places
where students learn ro live
with, and learn from, local
wildlite, insects and native
plant species.

The project’s model
schools will demonstrate what
it takes to create educational
gardens filled with indigenous
plant species and local wildlife.

BO Model Schools will
work with over 1.0000 stu
dents, parent. teachers and
communi members as
school sites are surveved,
designed, and planted.

Evergreen will dink hand
scape architects, restoration
specialists, gardeners, and so
onto schools through a work-
shop series and on-site consul
tauions.

will provide some funding for
