2 - Sunday, July 4, 1999 - North Shorea News NURTURING NATURE ON THE NORTH SHORE A CHANGING LANDSCAPE AT CITY HALL The Municipality is making a difference and now you can too! The City of North Vancouver recently completed a landscape enhancement project at City Hall. This environmental effort was accomplished with the help of a Naturescape British Columbia kit. Naturescape British: Columbia is a program that explains how to co-exist with nature. The kit provides the tools needed to restore, maintain, improve or protect wildlife habitats. “The City’s new landscape reduces resource inputs and increases the ecological diversity of plant: around City Hail,” said Dave Hutch, Parks. design Technician. Hutch and the City’s Parks Crews spent more than a year working on the demonstration garden to give the community 2n opportunity to view the planting, growth and evolution of this type of project. Guided by words and illustrations in the kit, you can start restoring your outdoor space to a more natural state and make a home for many types of wildlife that live there. You don’t have to have a lot of space. You can start small by installing a planter, a feeder or even a bird bath.
