Quality of Dear Editor: I do not intend to respond to the open letter to North Vancouver District Council by Monica Mac- donald because the self-interest and lack of objectivity in the letter are evident to all who have read it. The ambiance and quality of life for residents of lower Montroyal have changed in the past few years. With increased building density at the higher elevation and the resul- tant traffic flow, residents of Montroyal who have lived on the Boulevard for the past 20 to 30 years are hard-pressed to recognize what was once a pleasant suburban street. Throughout my son’s_ school years there was never a lack of or- ganized sports and we focused on soccer, Little League baseball and touch - football. I have always marvelled at the men and women who showed my son how to be car- ing, unselfish and sincere. Namely the organizers, coaches, referees, equipment managers, the tele- phone people, spouses of the men and women involved (from you he learned unselfishness and pa- tience). The list goes on and on, year after year! Please, everyone of you recognize that you were a very pos- itive influence on my son and know that you have indeed made the difference.
