The book, My Adventures With Ideas, breaks tradition with regular books, with a series of Open-ended fine ideas aS visual stimulation for the reader to create per- sonal meanings. For one, we think that see- ing is only through the eyes, but really we see with our brains, based on the nerve signals sent by the eyes. Berukoff says that by using our eyes in different ways, we use Our brains in dif- ferent ways. Another way Berukoff belheves we limit our visual percepuion is by believing that words are the only valid way of thinking. But she says the use of language 1s only one way of relating to experience, through a word labelling system. In the first part of the book, children have the -chance to experiment with drawing new kinds of houses, faces, inventions, machines, natural forms and more. Rather than the child beginning with an object to draw, as in traditional draw- ing, the object is the end result of a visual explora- tion.
