Glen Patrick Spence, 17, of 210 Wanoak St., W.V.,

who Is recuperating from_a 6-inch stab wound inflicted In ~

self defence by the person he attacked, has been charged

‘with ‘assault causing bodily harm,. according to W.V.

police reports. The incident occurred Jan. 30 outside the
International Plaza when three youths, Inclading Spence,
assaulted a 44-year-old male. In defence, the man used
his knife, injuring Spence, Also charged was Stephen
Eugene Charlie, also 17. The third assailant was a
juvenile, police sald. :

Armed robber granted bail

Five thousand dollars ball with one surety has: been.

granted Frederick Douglas Chamberlain, 18, formerly of |

Whitehorse, Yukon, who has been charged with the Jan.
25 armed robbery of Valley Food Market, 1501 Lynn
Valley Road. As of press time Chamberlain apparently
was unable to meet the. ball granted Tuesday by N.V.

- provinclal court Judge J. Layton. Chamberlain was

apprehended 15 minutes after the robbery when his

getaway car was Involved In an accident at Lonsdale and

Upper Levels. Police recovered the alleged weapon, a
sawed-off .22 calibre rifle In the vehicle.
