NORTH SHORE high school track and field athletes will compete at the fifth
and final North Shore track and field league meet next Tuesday at West
Vancouver Secondary School. From there, qualified athletes will compete in
the North Shore preliminaries at the West Vancouver school beginning May 6.

while the Selects under-15 squad squashed
the Metro Ford Grasshoppers 3-1 in their
semi-final contest.

In Co Challenge Cup final action last
Sunday at Coquitlam Towncentre, the sole
North Shore team competing. the under-19
Lyon Valley Falcons, had their wings
clipped 4-nil by Cowichan OK Tire.

Falcons player Kevin Backie was select-
ed as his team’s outstanding player which
earned him a berth on the tournament all-star
team.
