veloper’’;

® the suspension of further sub-
division applications until an
overall comprehensive develop-
ment plan including trail systems
is in place;

@ the instruction of the arborist
to not permit further trees in the
area to be cut until a plan is made
public.

Martin Corp spokesmen
Howard Martin and Fred Russell
did not return phone calls to press
time.

Durham said lots in the area
range from $250,000 to $450,000.
A new home would cost between
$750,000 to $1 million.

Hydro applauds library expansion

ENERGY EFFICIENT
technology installed in the
newly expanded West Van-
couver Memorial Library
has won West Vancouver
District recognition from
BC Hydro’s Power Smart
program.

At a council mecting. on ‘Mon-
day, Hydro’s North Shore
regional “inanager Don Waddell
presented West Vancouver Mayor
Mark Sager with a plaque and a
$21,802 rebate cheque as a reward
for the district’s commitment to

and its taxpayers an estimated
$5,000 annually. :

The amount saved is enough to
supply the electrical needs of 10
new homes,

Waddell said the savings will be
passed on to the community and
the environment.

“This is what can take place
when the community and BC
Hydro work together through
Power Smart,”’ he said.
