The HSBBPA has been repre- senting merchants and profes- sionals in the Horseshoe Bay area since 1984. The group is often consulted by West Vancouver District Council and its staff an issues pertaining to Horseshoe Bay and West Vancouver. The former Horseshoe Bay Community Association recently donated the remainder of its funds to three groups, which included $21,000 going to the Lions Gate Hospital, $10,000 to the West Vancouver Memorial library ex- pansion project and $2,000 to the HSBBPA. The service, called Opportunity Alert, is the first of its kind in Canada, according to North Van- couver-Seymour MLA Jack Davis. “Opportunity Alert is helping these and other British Columbia companies win provincial and federal government contracts,”’ said Davis. He added that companies using’ Opportunity Alert save time and money by not having to constantly call government buyers looking for new tenders.
