The standard Caprice
powerplant is the electronic
fuel-injected 5.0 litre V8
with a four-speed automatic
transmission. According to
Andy Turner of Dick Irwin
Chevrolet, the Caprice will
be the last GM V8 passenger
car with rear-wheel drive.

The 5.0-litre throttle body

injector offers excellent hot
fuel handling, fuel economy,
driveability and superb idle
speed control. Other features
of the $S.0L include single
belt accessory drive and ex-
cellent fluid sealing for
smooth, efficient operation
throughout the engine's per-
formance band.

All Caprice models con-
tinue to offer four-wheel,
coil spring suspension and
solid, full-frame construc-
tion.
