Learning Fair is to feature a
privatization speaker Sunday,
Nov. 8.

Dr. Walter Block, senior
economist, Fraser Institute, will
speak at 12:30 p.m. on the
Privatization of Education: An
idea whose time has come. He will
outline compelling reasons why the
state should not be involved in
running schools or specifying cur-
ticulum,

Children will have opportunities
to. meet other home-educated
children in workshops on math, art

and writing. The SPCA will show
a video and discuss care of your
pet, and the Red Cross will teach
water safety.

Over 2,000 families are
estimated to be home-educating in
B.C.

The Home Learning Fair is to be
held Sunday, Nov. 8, 10 a.m. to 6
p.m. at Columbia College, 6037
Marlborough, Burnaby. Admis-
sion is $8 per person or $8 per
family. Unemployed by donation.
There is no pre-registration but
programs and coffee are available
at 9:30 a.m.
