Many of the courses in computer programming, secretarial training, early childhood education, welding, business manage- ment — even florist training — are now full and addi- tional classes have been Opened. North Shore Continuing works in close cooperation with School District #45 to serve the interests of West Vancouver residents. The adult education department recently opened new quarters lin the old Hamilton School. The new Continuing Education Cen- tre, at 2132 Hamilton Avenue, houses the North Shore School of Commerce and a language centre that of- fers nine foreign languages, plus English as a second language. around the North Shore. Commenting on the heavy enrolment in career prepara- tion courses, N.S.C.E. Direc- tor, Doug Ledgerwood said, “Our students are obviously preparing themselves for the economic recovery we. all hope 1s around the corner. Many of them are either unemployed or under- employed.
