Theré will be lumps of banana, but that makes it taste better. Fold in: ‘6 Cup raisins Ye cup carob” chips (chocolate uf you must) Turn into a greased pan and bake for about an hour, or until bread passes tooth- pick test. Let sit ten minutes in pan, then turn out. Best served warm, but do not slice before it has cooled a httle. No Dutch oven‘ PERISH forfend that I should scare you off pot roast with my Draconian pronoun- a Dutch oven. Desirable, yes, but there are neat and inexpensive alter- Matives. You must understand that sometimes I just feel bossy. One excellent option is foul, which offers the extra bonus of = practically eliminating the washing-up. If you use the really heavy kind, and practise the drug- store wrap, you can create the same kind of sealed, steamy cookery that the Dutch oven provides. Do put the foil package(s) in a baking pan, though, to save dripping into the oven. Foil cookery can easily include other stuff; assorted vegetables, with butter and seasonings, done up in 1in- dividual packets, pork chops, painted with = soy sauce and apple sauce, browned first, if you like. just be sure there 1s something to catch — the inevitable leaks.
