The seniors centre reviewed the past. year at its recent annual general meeting, chaired by Don Calder. . : According ‘to director Lynda Lyons, the centre now has 2,800 members, 571 of whom joined in 1987, Last year, attendance at square dancing, conducted by Harry and Frances Somerville, totalled 3,000 people. Movies attracted 1,900 members. Robyn McGuinness, program coordinator, stated that 2,253 tickets were sold in 1987 for 81 trips including garden tours, junkets tc western Washington, boat trips and visits to the race ” tracks. These and many other activities would not have been possible without the work of 404 volunteers who spent a total of 30,015 hours at the centre. The centre was awarded the B.C.
