Nocturnal burglars

WEST VANCOUVER Police are advising residents to

Court appearance

A BRITISH Properties woman charged with the second-
degree murder of her daughter-in-law appeared in West
Vancouver provincial court on Monday.

Rashida Khan, 45, is jointly charged with her hus-
band Abdur Rashid Khan. 33, in connection with the
December murder of Naazish Khan, 23.

Naazish Khan was found dead in the trunk of a Khan
family car in Coquitlam,

An autopsy indicated Naazish Khan died of asphyxia-
tion.

Rashida Khan remains in custody and will appear in
court next Monday to fix a date for trial.

Meeting clarified

A NEWS article published in the Feb. 2 issue of the
North Shore News reported that the Commanity Focus
Group is holding a public meeting on Thursday, Feb. 10
_ at the North Vancouver District municipal hall to discuss
‘options for the Lions Gate Bridge replacement. ;

‘A meeting is in fact taking place that night but it is
‘not open to the public.

Several members of the Community Focus Group are
attending:a meeting of the Lower Capilano Planning —
Committee which meets regularly to assist the planning

. department in preparing an official community plan for
: the Lower Capilano area.

THE WEST Vancouver Foundation announced at its
id4th annual mecting that its assets had increased by 14%
over 1992. Coniributions to the foundation in fiscal year
1993 amounted tc $72,672, while grants to organizations
and individuals totailed $34,309.
