out of reach of small children and
protect unused outlets with safety
closures?

any other large appliance have a
separate outlet not shared with
other appliances?

® Do you unplug your portable
heater, iron, hair dryer, curling
iron and electric blanket when
they are not in use?

® Do you ensure bathroom floor
and counters are dry before using
your hair dryer, curling iron or
other appliance? ’

@ Do you always use fight bulbs
of the wattage recommended for
your lamps and ceiling fixtures?

If you answered no to any of
these questions, you may be
misusing electrical appliances or
maintaining them poorly. Correc-
ting these practices, and teaching
your family to do the same, could
prevent needless injury and loss to
your family and home.

® Have you installed or repaired
any wiring or outlets without
having them checked by an elec-
trician?

®@ Do you replace a blown fuse
with one of a different size or
with a penny or piece of metal in-
stead?
