to the disappointment of one pas-
senger who said, when’ she was
disembarking, how much she
would miss him.

After the doors closed, he turn-
ed to me with a big smile, “Isn't
that nice?’ he asked. “It's been
great having a regular route and

He was moving on to a new
route the next day. We wished
each other luck in our new
endeavors, and waved when the
doors shut behind me.

Between the late afternoon air
and those two bus drivers, there

on the way home,

And then 1 recalled the curse-
filled, fist-waving, angry exchange
I had witnessed that day between
two car drivers who had pulled

ings sometimes, But they’re worth
it,

And just remember; if Greater
Vancouverites decreased their car
use by only 10%, the positive ef-
fect on air quality would be the
same as if all local industries were
shut down,
