N. Shore Neighborhood
House has drop-in sports

NORTH SHORE Neighbourhood
House (NSNH) is offering winter
drop-in activities to. People who
are too busy to commit themselves
to scheduled sports, but stil! like
to get out and participate.

Basketball games for adults are
offered on an ongoing, drop-in
basis on Monday nights from 7:30
to 10:30 p.m. Players organize
games themselves and the fee is a
yearly adult house membership,
which costs $9.

Adult drop-in volleyball is of-
fered on Sunday nights from 7 to

10 p.m. commencing January 5
through March 29. Instructor and
coach Hossein Fakhari, will give
one hour of instruction followed
by two hours of game time. The
drop-in fee is $3.50 or $39 for the
entire winter session.

Ongoing on Thursday nights
from 8 to 10 p.m. is adult drop-in
badminton. The drop-in fee is $3.

American Automobile Association
degan its diamond rating system
in 1977, the association’s awards
ceremonies will be held outside the
United States — in Vancouver,
which, for the third year in a row,
is the only city in North America
to be home to three Five Diamond
award-winning hotels.

The Four Seasons Hotel, Le
Meridien, and the Pan Pacific
Hotel will receive the prestigious
award for unsurpassed hotel ex-
cellence, at ceremonies to be held
on Jan, 34, 1992.

Of nearly 20.000 hotels in-
spected in Canada, the United
States and Mexico, only 49 — less
than one-quarter of 1% — receive
the Five Diamond award.

AAA inspeciors conduct intense
investigations of each hotel, arm-
ed with a checklist that covers the
level and attitude of staff and
every imaginable detail of the
physical aspects of the property.

the B.C. Automobile Association.
