placed on probation for a year
after the 21-year-old Vancouver
man pleaded guilty fo ene count of
theft under $1,000.

North Vancouver provincial court
February 18: ']

Leon Scott Gemma was fined
$50 after the 34-year-old Van-
couver man pleaded guilty to a
charge of failing to appear for a
scheduled court date.

Doug Toma and Jerry Miloni
were fined $100 cach after the two
North Vancouver men pleaded
guilty to violating North Van-
couver noise bylaws.

James Raymond Sewell was fin-
ed $1,000 after the 29-year-old
North Vaucouver man pleaded
guilty to one count of assault.

THE GREATER Vancouver
Regional District is drafting regu-
lations aimed at upgrading all
apartment incinerators so they
meet acceptable ai pollution con-
trol standards.

Most apartment buildings today
use refuse containers. But
apartment incinerators are still a
major source: of air pollution
complaints from the public.

Since 1973 orders have been
issued to shut down or repair over
§00 incinerators.
