THE COHO are running in the Capilano River, and as part of ‘Coho Festival 84’ on Sunday, September 9, the Greater Vancouver Regional District Parks Department and the North -Vancouyer Chamber of Commerce invite people from throughout the lower mainland to participate in the Coho Walk’ through the dramatic and picturesque Capilano River Regional Park. The day will begin on Sun- day with a pancake breakfast from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. sponsored by the West Van- couver Lions Club on the eastside of Hudson’s Bay at the South Mall of Park Royal Shopping Centre. There ‘Coho Walk’ participants can park their cars, pay a registration fee of $1.00 per person or $3.00 per family to receive a map of Capilano Regional Park and an official entry card. Starting from 10:00 a.m. ‘to 2:00 p.m. bus rides (no dogs please) up to the Cleveland Dam where the walk officially begins will be provided. From the Cleveland Dam, ‘Coho Walk’ participants will descend through 7% kilometers of scenic canyon trails to the mouth of the Capilano River and finish at the GVRD’s green tent at the site of Coho Festivities in Ambleside Park. Along the way there are several points of interest including the salmon hatchery where walkers can learn more about Seven medals by Cruiser divers THE NORTH Vancouver Cruiser divers under the coaching of Gun Odegard, came away with seven medals after the Summer Diving Provincials held August 23 at the Canada Games Pool in New Westminster. Merritt Hutchins let the team winning two gold medals in the boys 13-14 age group taking both the | and 3 metre competitions. Lee Macri won silver medals on both boards in the boys 11-12 competition. Kyle Gosling took a silver medal on the 1 metre in. the boys 9-10 age: group and placed 4th on the 3 metre in the 12 and under category. Cathrine Olsen won a silver medal in the | metre girls 9-10 competition and placed 4th on the 3 metre 12 and under group. In the girls 13-14 age group, Tina Fredriksen won the bronze medal on the 3 metre board and placed Sth on the | metre. Ingrid Hoff placed 6th in both the | and 3 metre competition for girls 11-12.
